Senator Bernie Sanders Phone Bank Volunteering

Most of my work for the #Bernie2016 campaign has been social media related. Working as part of a team I manage several platforms within the group. I decided it was time to do some on the ground outreach.

I was checking out events on berniesanders.com when I came across the NH phone back event in Nashua. NH is an early primary state. It is critical in setting expectations in the minds of many who have not yet had the chance to vote as their state primary is still yet to come. Getting out the vote in the Democratic primary in itself is an important and difficult task. So I decided this was a good place to start.

I signed up for the Nashua office event and I attended a webinar training as suggested on the event page.  It appears you can do phone banking two ways. In a group at a physical event, whether campaign hosted or volunteer hosted, or individually via your own resources.

Being a part of a larger group on site phone bank is a lot of fun. You can share your experience good or bad with fellow volunteers. It is also extremely rewarding to be able to see the results of your work tick off in respect to lines on a page which is normally not immediately apparent when social media posting is your normal game.

All in all a very rewarding experience. Find one near you at BernieSanders.com choose events or host one or just sign up for the training at https://go.berniesanders.com/page/content/phonebank.

Have fun and feel rewarded.
